BLEACH* has always championed investment in new work, and this year is no different. They are proud to support the creation of 14 new works which will premiere as part of the Festival. Making new work is simultaneously thrilling and risky and we hope you join in for the ride.

The program is always action packed and inspiring, this year they’re stepping it up a notch.

Radial at the Burleigh Taphouse

Join us on Friday 19th August at 6pm for the screening of RADIAL at the Burleigh Taphouse.

A playful merging of video art, dance, music and fashion, RADIAL features the electronic wizardry of Tralala Blip and acrobatic aerial performances by Lauren Watson and Tara Sales. Join us to watch this world-class company in action and celebrate the diversity of humankind.

Burleigh Brewing has had the privilege of brewing the Burleigh Dunkel for Oktoberfest Brisbane for the last 10 years. This year, we are the exclusive Bier provider for the festival! Oktoberfest Brisbane is all about authenticity and Brewmaster Brennan is no stranger to Reinheitsgebot (that’s the Bavarian Bier Purity Law!) or German brewing, having originally started his career in a German brewery.

As the exclusive bier partner, we’ll be brewing three traditional German Biers 🍻

With the addition of a Helles & Weissbier, our brew team is stoked to once again bring back our beloved Oktoberfest Dunkel – which is brewed with yeast sourced from a 600 year old German Monastery, hops from the Hallertau Region and malt from the Bramberg area.

Grab your lederhosen or your dirndl, and we’ll see you there. Prost! 🇩🇪

With over 700 eager on-lookers in attendance, a line-up of the best elite, industry level street skateboarders from around the country headed to the Burleigh Taphouse on Friday, June 24th for Burleigh Keg Jump 2022.

The night kicked off with the best trick session, featuring a fresh stock of skate obstacles including a hubber, rails and a pallet of Burleigh Brewing beer. For each trick deemed, the ‘best’ by esteemed judging panel; Sean Holland, Trent Fahey, Leigh Bolton and Izy Mutu – the skaters earned an envelope containing $100 cash and a carton of Burleigh beer to take home. Not bad!

After sinking some tricks (and for the crowd, cold craft beers!), it was time for the skaters to line up for the famous main event – Burleigh Keg Jump.

One by one, keg by keg and eventually, with a single skater left standing… Dani Campbell confirmed his win by jumping and landing an INSANE 14 Burleigh kegs – smashing the previous record of 11 kegs he shared with previous winners, Sam Atkins and Nixen Osbourne.

Dani scored himself a cool $2000 cash in prize money, the renowned Burleigh Golden Growler Trophy, Burleigh beer for a year and an exclusively brewed beer named in his honour at the Burleigh Taphouse – appropriately named DANI DID 14! KEGS.

The skaters weren’t the only ones to put on a show for the night!

Social media sensation, and local legend, Blake Melbourne kept the crowd entertained and up to date as MC while DJ’S Wade De Souz and Ross River Fever kept the beats pumping till late at the official event After Party.

Capturing all the skate action was renowned skate photographer, Darren Kirby – who’s iconic works are currently on display at the Burleigh Taphouse. Darren is our current Artist in Residence.

The journey first started with Craft Cartel Liquor, Liquor Legends and 150 + independent stores running 3 seperate, enter-to-win The Ultimate Burleigh Keg Jump Experience competitions. Along with last years winner (who missed out thanks COVID!), three winners were selected from around the country and flown in with a plus 1 for the occasion. They were also treated to an exclusive tour of the brewery, new season merch packs and a whole lot of Burleigh craft beer.

A massive thank you as-well, to stellar venues The Local Taphouse (Melbourne), The Balmain (Sydney), The Plough Inn (Brisbane) and Burleigh Heads Hotel (Gold Coast). These folk all showed us amazing hospitality when letting us shoot our initial promotional video, featuring elite level industry skaters Sam Atkins, Chima Ferguson, Dennis Durrant & Chase Jaeger.
